My Nero CD that came with my Liteon CD-RW says right on the CD that it will only work with the burner it was shipped with. I tried it on my daughter's laptop and an error window came up and told me the same thing after it was loaded. Look on the CD and see if the message is there.

They changed them around the time they introduced the 40x burner. Since then all the burner brands I have used that came with a Nero disk only worked with that brand of burner.

Not necessarily so, a couple weeks ago, I've bought a Liteon burner 52-24-52 (which are made by Sony) with a Nero " bundled" disk,
( at Newegg ) but I didn't install it on the Liteon burner 'cause I prefer ecd creator 5xx, but I installed the same Nero burning ware on my other Rig's burner instead , and it installed just fine, and all of it's feature are working perfectly, in your case I would try downloading the update , but in my case, I didn't do it, nor need to.....Yet! |

Who knows what Nero can do? A few years ago, I tried installing the Nero that came with my son's 8x Cendyne. Tilt!

The downloaded version will only install as a trial unless you have a registered or OEM version already on there - then it will update it.
