I have a japanese artist cd. I want to rip some songs onto my pc in mp3. Is there a freeware for ripping it. And for savind the ID tag. Since the writing is in japanese-I hope to have the same ID-but the keyboard can't type jap words.

If I'm not mistaken, CD-text and ID3 tags for MP3s are not the same, and not interchangeable. You will have to write your own ID3 tags. I suggest using "MP3 tag tools".

If you have Windows Media Player 8, you can do it there, with the "Copy from Cd" option, I believe it saves it as Mp3. Just beware, you'll lose sound quality converting to Mp3 with any program.
