Voice recognition software

Can anyone reccommend some good voice recognititon software? I'm building a computer for a friend and he's dead set on the concept of being able to do things with his voice. In case this info is needed, he'll be running Windows XP.

I heard that a software called Dra gon Voice Recognition is the best as I heard, real real good communication and very reliable but its pricey. I think the cheapest one is like 300$ unless you can find it somehwere cheaper.

I use Dragon Naturally Speaking for dictating reports, works well once you get it properly trained.

For your information, I do not know what you are expecting, but this program works by you speaking into a microphone one word at a time real slow, then you grab the mouse and left click and drag to highlight what the program just typed on the screen. Next you use the keyboard to type in what you really wanted, then you repeat the above.

I have used naturally speaking just fine, the trick it to traine it to your voice and how you speak, once you get it started it works good and keeps on learning, the more you use it, the better it gets.

Microsoft Word XP has voice recognition built in as it will type what you say.

Dragon Naturally Speaking 7 is only $50-$99 HERE. I am using Naturally Speaking 5 to write this. It works great. Dragon is better than what's built into Office XP. You can control all of Windows and there is no need to click a button to switch between "command" mode and "dictation" mode.
