When any OS uses an ACPI/APM BIOS routine, such as stand-by, what does the BIOS code actually turn off? For example the OS would just say to the BIOS “put the system on stand-by” and it is up to the BIOS to do it. Does it just turn off IDE drives & the monitor, or will it turn off things such as SCSI drives and USB hard drives etc.
