choppy scrolling

I've recently reinstalled windows and everything on my computer, but noticed that whenever I scroll with the scroll button on my mouse, or the scroll bar on the side of the browser, scrolling becomes very choppy. I first thought it was a problem with my mouse, or just with Opera, but I noticed that it happens regardles of whether I'm on the internet or within windows. What do you guys think I should try to make scrolling smoother?

Thank you
Dswissmiss

Hmmm... what version of Windows do you have?... and how recent was the reinstallation?... if it's been a few weeks, you may want to clear out the temp files, temp internet files, cookies, etc...

How do I enable smooth scrolling? where in the control panel do I find all the things you mentioned? thanx... Yes, I do have windows XP and I reinstalled everyting about 3 days ago, and I do regularly clean everything. Btw, it's not only scrolling that's choppy, even if I move a folder around with my mouse pointer it becomes very choppy.

If you can, try going 75 or 80. From what I've seen, it's usually the low refesh rate that cause choppy scrolling.

If it's selectable, you can apply it.

If it starts bothering your eyes at 70, go up to 75 or 80
