Error message when trying to play a game...
I'm trying to play an old game with some buddies and each time the game launches it goes to the loading screen then crashes and gives this message...
The only way I can play is to leave the error message up and move it off screen then launch again... |

Have you tried reinstalling it yet?
It could also be another program that is causing conflicts with the game.

Did you patch it?
I remember Rainbow Six had a patch right out of the box. I thought it only had to do with a problem half way through the game, but still worth a shot. |

I assume you are running XP:
have you tried compatibility mode? |

You must install the game with the compatability preselected. This method usually always works.
First completely uninstall the game if it has already been installed using the uninstall option then explorer if folders remain. Then- 1) Explore the CD and select all. 2) Copy to a new folder on the hard drive. 3) Open this folder, right click setup.exe and select Win95 compatability (you can try the other OS later if required). Turn off any other unneccessary options that might be available. 4) Double click this setup.exe file and install as normal. |
