windows messenger

Whenever i start my computer, windows messenger is alwas in the taskbar and the icon has a little x in it. when i right click on the icon and click exit it says (look at attachment) how can i make it so MS Messenger doesnt start up? i tried MSCONFIG but to no avail.

EDIT: well the picture of the error i attached didnt work. it just says "there are other apps that are currently useing the featers of MS messenger............"

Open Windows Messenger, click tools, options, preferences, and uncheck the "run this program when windows starts" box.
