I just bought Win2000 pro to install on my computer and it came with a pre-installtion disk. Never seen this before. Do I need it? What does it do? Thanx

What do the instructions say about it? Have you looked at the files on it for a "readme.txt" type file?

I've come across those pre-installation disks...they've nothing and not necessary to install Windows with.
I think they are used by system integrators (Dell, Gateway, etc...) to create recovery disks with. Cricket

I had one with a Dell. It checked your computer to see if it was XP compatable. Had a lot of other worthless info on it also.
