Check the volume controls for Windows arn't set to min. and if SB has it's own control panel, check that the volume controls are selected and and the sliders aren't at min.

Check in Control Panel - Multimedia-Correct device selected ?
Check C.P.- Sounds- set it to Windows default and test to see if you get windows ' ding dongs' ( .wav ) What do you mean by " I was having a problem with the sound " Did it go mute/dead ? work intermittently? Distorted sound ? Have you tested the speakers on another computer ? Cheers. |

I think Parangles is on the right track...
if you were having problems, is it possible the card itself has gone south?? do you have another sound card you can run? or check the card in another pc? |
