Maybe more details are in order, as Nero doesn't have any problems with VIA chipsets.... What mobo are you running? Which version of InCD? Which OS do you run? Do you have Roxio software installed? etc...

I don't have a problem with Nero . Its the InCd that I have a problem with. I am running win98se ,ECS k7vta3 mobo, 256 mb ddr, 40 gig hd. Here is where I got the info about it not supporting the via chipset.
Crashes with InCD While formatting an CD, InCD gets stuck. Please check if you are using the newest version of InCD. Please deactivate the switch off the automatic. Please also check that Windows has registered your CD Writer correctly (in the device manager) Please check if you are using the newest busmaster drivers. When formatting a CD, InCD gets stuck at 100%. This problem has been solved as of version 1.3.120. Please download the newest update from our WebSite. The computer gets hung up every now and then: If you have got inCD installed, then please check if you have got a computer witha VIA chipset. If this is the case: At the moment inCD does not yet support the Via Chipset. The computer crashes after the freshly formatted CD is ejected and is inserted again or if the computer is started again. In the only case which occurred so far, it helped to update the InCD version to 1.3.145 I did get the latest version InCd 4 and it still crashed my pc. Thanks |

You didn't mention if your running other packet writing software like Roxio. I've not had a problem that is VIA specific. Nero's site does also say:
