Hello All,
I was performing routine maintenance on my ole Compaq Presario. It runs Win 98SE. After ScanDisk and DiskDefrag, I was deleting files that I no longer need. However, in the MY DOCUMENTS folder I noticed that there duplicates of some Word files. Except the first two characters of the file name were replaced with ~$. Can I safely delete these without affecting the original file?? Thanks!! |

Yes, you can delete them. Those are files that Word creates when you are working with a document, and the are not needed once you close Word.
