Hi everyone,
I went to play an online game (not important what game it is) tonight and my mate couldn't connect to the game through the IP listed on the status screen. I went to get my PC's IP through DOS and it gave me 3 different IP's. 1: this IP was the one listed in the games status screen 2: The next IP was listed under 1 Ethernet adapter or something like that. 3: The last one was listed under 2 ethernet adapter or something similar. I have a PCI network card installed but i haven't started any networking yet as my other PC isn't ready yet. PS The second IP worked by the way and my mate joined the game. PPS Basically i dont want to have to obtain my IP through DOS all the time when we go to play the game. Thanks in advance MACKEM |

I just downoaded IP Monster for pretty much that reason. It's one of those little system tray progs that shows your IP address at the click of a mouse.

What OS are you using?
For win9x - go to START > RUN > and type winipcfg : from the drop down list select the network adapter that you are using to see the IP address For 2k/XP right click on the network connection icon on the systray (near the clock) - select STATUS > Support tab to see your IP address If you do not have the network connection icon in your systray go to CONTROL PANEL > Network connections > right click on the network route (or network card that you have active and click properties and check mark SHOW ICON IN NOTIFICATION AREA WHEN CONNECTED. |
