word 2000

I just installed Microsoft Word 2000 on my IBM Think Pad PII 233mhz 2Gb 192mb RAM laptop, running Win98se after a complete reformat of the machine and I’m having some problems. The “spelling & grammer” (spell checker) feature is greyed out in tool/options. Some of the other features don’t seem to work either, or are greyed out. I’ve reinstalled it a couple of times, and tried the repair feature to no avail. Any ideas??
Thanks

What kind of installation are you doing?

The Custom or the Typical?

Hi Nuclear Krusader. Thanks very much for your reply. I had used the custom install due to the small hard drive size (1.95Gb) needing only word & excel. After viewing your reply, I removed it and reinstalled the full application. Low and behold, it works now. My education continues thanks to folks like yourself. Thanks again!
