Cool

I noticed in your other thread that you run XP. Won't XP do that for you?

For extracting audio, CDex and Exact Audio Copy would be my choice. I prefer CDex simpley because it's so much faster than EAC and almost as good. Plus CDex allows you to select what codec you're using to rip, EAC defaults to the LAME encoder, which I personally do not like.

HTH.

I never understood the need for a special 3rd party program to copy files from a cd....I just open the cd in windows explorer, highllight the tracks I want to "rip" and copy them to a folder....once they are on your hd, if you need to, then you can convert them with a converter program.

Any of the programs mentioed do what you're doing, they just both copy it off the CD and convert it to mp3 in one step.
