Question how to copy audio from video to mp3 format?

I have did some searching, did not find any freeware for extracting audio from video. Does anyone know how to extract audio from mpeg file?programs for that.

i don't know xp that well but, you could try this
1 open volume control
2 open options, check recording, set recording to mix (to record whatever sound comes out of the soundcard)
3 start whatever aplication you normaly use to record sound
4 start recording
5 play the video file
6 when the video file is done stop recording
7 now save the sound file as mp3 (you could also save as wav and convert to mp3 later

Basically, you want to find a free line ripper, preferably one that will save to MP3. Basically, any sound that comes thorough your sound card can be ripped and saved to file.
