CRASH What is ....

Can someone please tell/explain me what OS/2 is?
Isn't it and OS?

OS/2 and DOS are obsolete, although DOS is still used for various things. Linux is by no means obsolete as they keep coming out with new versions

a lot of uk banks still use os/2

You'll also still find OS/2 on IBM hardware controller consoles for some of their larger enterprise equipment.
