Uninstalling Nero
According to the website Nero leaves files after uninstalling. Does anyone know which files they are? Will these files stop other burning software from working if I try and install them?

if you are comfortable editting the registry (always back up what you do) you can search for Nero or Ahead Software and delete what you find. (start>run>regedit)
also check to see if there is still a program folder (C:/program files/Ahead software) you can delete it. you also can search (start>find>files and folders) for any other folders or files that are titled Nero or Ahead software. just make sure everything is still working normally before you empty your recycle bin. when you have completed deleting what you find, run regclean ( get it here: http://download.com.com/3000-2094-88...ml?tag=lst-0-1 ) I use a program called Uninstaller...it takes out more than window's add remove programs. as far as installing a new burning program goes, you will be replacing any drivers that you removed by uninstalling Nero with your new install.... |

Excellent advice, Dan. That's exactly how I've done it before except I use RegHealer instead of regclean. Either way, ST, the important thing is to run some kind of registry correction tool after the uninstall to clean up the trash left behind.
