Wavy printing
Have had this problem with different printers and now a new Canon S330. Running ME with Word 2000. All type is wavy. Have reloaded ME, Word and printer software. Could it be a software problem. Please Help.

Sounds like the printer cartridges need to be aligned. Start > printers > right click on your printer > click properties
Now, since this is a cannon, I'm not 100% sure of where to go from here, but if it's similar to an HP, go to the "general" tab and click preferences. Look for "services" and "align printer cartridges". Follow the onscreen instructions. Hope this helps

There is another, often overlooked problem that can create the wavy lines. Is the printer on a table that isn't very steady? If the table/desk/whatever shakes when the printer's printing, strange and amazing things can result...wavy printing being one of them.
I figured this one out after trying to troubleshoot the same problem on a customer's computer. No problem at my house, same problem at their house and the light finally dawned.

since you have had multiple printer showing the same symptoms, maybe more details describing "wavy" may help. I say this because many different brands / models will print "wavy" in draft mode, even my "professional series" HP printer.
Does every line print wavy? does / do they print wavy in all quality modes? only in black / white or only in color? are you using factory ink? off-brand ink? refill you own ink? etc.... |

Thanks to everyone who has responded. I have checked all of the suggestions re wavy printing and no change. Something I just noticed though that is significant: I see these wavy print on my monitor when using Word. I have reinstalled Word and ME. Any ideas as to what's wrong?

That could be the problem. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure how this happens. Do I have the tower too close to an electrical outlet? I don't have much else close it.
