Angry Please help with media player

Hi I can't seem to view any videos. i can hear them but the screen is black. I used windows media player8 but now have ver 9. Still wont work. most videos work on 8 but now on 9 they are all black. I downloaded Divx and codecs for windows intalled and still doesnt work. If anyone can help please. Im about to go do a system restore.

ok me again I did the restore took me back to windows player 8. All videos work ok now, but I still cant see the video that I want to watch. It says "Classfactory can not supply requested class". Another thing also in media player when I play a video i doesnt play the whole video there is like 1/4in taken off allaround but when I view the same video using Winamp I can see the whole video. Why is this????

System specs? Have you tried to use quicktime?
