.ram player - ddraw.dll error msg.
I downloaded R.alternative/Media Player Classic but it will not open and play .ram files - message : mediaplayerclassic\mplayer.exe is linked to missing export
' ddraw.dll.' I downloaded this file but it would not install- "in use " Went to 'find files' and yes its already installed in windows\system. I'm over my head here - Somebody please help me out. Do I need to give more info? |

What version DirectX are you running? There may be a compatibility issue here between the player and your version.

I didn't have DirectX, I had deleted it long ago, along with WindowsMediaPlayer to fix a frequent crash problem.
So... I just installed Ver9 and all is well- good video, opens up automatically from news sites.( showing RealOne logo for some reason- guess thats off the site and not off my PC cause I don't have it installed) Why would DirectX be needed to run RealAlternative? Isn't DirectX a video enhancer/booster for gaming and other intense video ? Anyway.... Thanks glc ! |
