Boom Win XP and E-mail

When I start up Win xp under my log on nma eit says that I have two unread e-mail messages. The only e-mail i am using is Outlook XP. I have read all my e-mail. HOw do I clear this?

No I deleted all of those as well after I read them. I even deleted all the junk mail. I then went to the hotmail web site and deleted all mail manually from ther as well.
