im having trouble shutting down
When I go to shut down Win2000 Pro it takes forever, but does eventually reboot or shut down. Ive run virus scans with Avast!Antivirus, and run Ad-aware. doesnt seem to help. defraged my HD. didnt help. Please help this is really anoying.

Long shut down times usually indicate that your OS is trying to shut down an application running in the background or if a process is in system memory and has gotten hung up for some reason.
Before you shut down, next time bring up the task manager by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del and see what is hogging up your memory - if any. |
