Help please
Do not know if this the right place for this question but here goes (sorry if wrong place). Have Event ID 10000. Unable to start DCOM server... Happened while starting this command c:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe-Embedding. Lost msn messenger 5.0 2 weeks ago...installed 6.0. Still got error. Uninstalled it all...still there. I do have the blaster worm update. I scanned for viruses not only thru norton's but thr panda active scan...nothing. The computer works...can use messenger 6.0. But those red x's keep poppin up in the admin system log about 1/2 hr after being on puter. Is this serious? It's no worm. Can anyone out there tell me...

mesenger is atempting to be a server and your firewall is stoping it witch is good as you wont get popups and any worm blaster probs

So is this why the error always comes up when I use my outlook express? Ever since I put 5.0 on I got this error and I must say andyms that your answer makes sense! Thank-you

In your Outlook Express options, uncheck the box that says something like "Start my default instant messaging program when opening Outlook Express".
