Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on backup software I should invest in after my recent problem with windows xp ( http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=75969 ). I currently have Drive Image 2002, and while it’s great software, i just think I could be using something more practical. Having a complete system image is handy, but you end up backing up a lot of stuff you just backed-up last week; How many files do you really change in one week? A lot sure, but definitely not 40gbs worth. And I’m not really bothered about backing up programs I’ve installed, for the most part at least. That’s what I kept the installation CD for ![]() I’ve also decided to invest in a second hard drive to make it easier to store system images, but is there anything else i should get to make life easier? I'd thought along the lines of something like http://www.symantec.com/goback/ but i don't really know if that's what i'm looking for. I know windows xp has it's own system restore points, but they aren't any good if you can't even boot into windows itself (which was the problem i had). Any advice would be great, because I’d like to avoid any more computer disasters! Last edited by Livingston Dell; 09-25-2003 at 04:23 PM. |

If the native XP backup utility isnt good enough, I'd suggest taking a look at NovaBACKUP http://www.no-panic.com/backup/n_backup.html
