Nero Vision Express 2 To Convert AVI
When using Nero Vision Express 2 to convert an AVI movie to DVD, the DVD movie plays fine on a standalone player, but when played on my computer there is no sound. Any suggestions? Also, I am able to obtain "good" sound in "Pro Logic", but not in "Dolby Digital." Any suggestions? WolfpackRon.

You'll need the AC-3 codec. just do a Google search, you'll find it.

I will try to add the AC-3 codec. If the sound works when i play the AVI file on the computer, does that mean I already have the codec. Or Am I adding the AC-3 codec to make the Dolby Digital audio work when I play the DVD on the DVD player? Thanks in advance. WolfpackRon.

I tried to download the AC-3 codec, and I already had it installed on my computer. The avi plays with sound on my computer before converting with Nero Vision Express 2 and copying to DVD. I still do not understand why the DVD audio plays on the standalone DVD player, but not the computer. WolfpackRon.

All I can say is the the AC-3 filter or codec is the Dolby Digital filter. If it's not working, then either the software you are using isn't using the AC-3 filter properly or it's not installed properly.

It could be something funny about the softsware, since the audio works fine on the computer when played as an AVI file and works fine on the standalone DVD player when played as a converted file. Maybe I should be happy. Thanks, WolfpackRon.
Except for audio playing as "Pro Logic" instead of as "Dolby Digital." Last edited by WolfpackRon; 09-30-2003 at 07:47 PM. |
