IrfanView is a graipics veiwer and although I have Photoshop and PaintShop Pro I recommend it to friends for easy photo resizing.

WinAmp is a media player and is free.

Diskeeper is an alternative to the standard defraging tool in Windows.

For CD burning I use Nero

Well, ya'll left out my favorite. And none 'cept Linux would even run without it. Windows XP!! - any version and two of my favorites: Audio Cleaning Lab 2004 and Registry Healer (full version)

Reviewing the original list - the following will NEVER touch my drive as they contain spyware and/or screw things up:

Download Accelerator
Atomic Clock Sync
WeatherBug

Window Washer is questionable.

Popup blockers and IE can do weird things too - I prefer alternative browsers that have popup controls built in.

I use Opera and have popups set to pop up behind the active window in case it's something I need - there are a lot of sites that use legitimate popups for site functionality. It's easy to access the window from the tab bar. A bit of advice - stick with Opera 7.11 for now - 7.20 has some nasty bugs that will be addressed soon with 7.21.

Spybot gets rid of the stuff from weatherbug and download accelerator. And I only run atomic clock once a week so any spyware from that is minimal.
And I haven't had any of them screw anything up.
