Boom deleted item returns...over and over again...

I have tried to delete a blank folder I created on my desktop quite a while ago...no matter if I delete it by right clicking, or drop and drag it to the recycle bin...it returns. I have looked in the properties and tried everything...any suggestions? Thanks.

what is the folder for? Maybe you use a program that needs/creates the folder.

Shot in the dark, but try changing the folder's name, then deleting it. Mebbe that will help erase the footprint? Dunno.

Thanks all,

Tried all three. Have run for spyware/virus all is good. Have renamed and then deleted, it returned a few days latter, and no the folder is not for windows, its a folder that under properties lists 0kb...still in the dark here...

What is the folder name?

Perhaps it is using a 'reserved' system name without meaning to?

David.

In Windows Explorer, check under Documents and Settings>All Users to see if it's there. That will often cause a deleted desktop item to reappear when it was only deleted from one account.
