Can you install windows without IE?
My firend is trying to convince me that it isn't possible to have windows without internet explorer without having to hack windows.. is this true?

I don't think you can install Windows without installing IE (not 100% sure). But you can remove it after install without any problems.

If you remove IE from any version of Windows from 95C to present (which is IE4 or newer), you will be breaking parts of the operating system. This is not all bad, but you need to realize what functions will no longer operate. For most users, if you don't like IE, leave it alone and use an alternative browser - which is exactly what I do. You still need IE to access Windows Update.
