I wonder?

I wonder exactley how many users actually have Kazaa, Kazaa-lite on their computers?
I see messages all the time here about slow computers and Kazaa or some flavor of P-to-P software is invloved.

I recently started a "moonlight" business out of a hobby of taking other's computers and cleaning them out to get them to run right again. I call it "restoration". The #1 problem in the past 8 I've done were all related to virus's (or virii) or spyware associated with Kazaa, I-mesh or some other P-to-P software. All had high schoolers from 15 to 18 or college students living at home. Funny thing is, when you ask what songs they have and which ones they listen to, invariably it comes down to a status thing of who has the most songs downloaded! What a waste of bandwidth.

Kazaa is not just for downloading mp3's.

I use it for downloading pics from TV shows and hard to find games. And acasionaly I download clips from movies to find out if their worth renting.

Cool

I can see a very good reason for a service like Kazaa but am leary of puting it on my PC after reading all the horror stories here about virus and trojan infestations. I depend on this PC for my contracing business and tracking my investments and trading.

I may hook my test PC up and put it on there some day.

I have K-Lite. I use it to sample movies and anime soundtracks to see if they are buy-worthy. I got a virus and a trojan in my old ME due to Kazaa use but it's nothing I can't handle.

Too many problems related to KaZaa and it's deriviatives. Virii, trojans, port scanning...there are better and legal ways to get songs/movies/games and the like.

Started using Kazaa-lite again this week after getting a letter from my ISP and Paramount Pictures (for a cancelled tv show episode) but never had problems with viruses or anything like that. Used to use eMule, but the partial file sharing thing got me into trouble.

No flavor of Kazaa (or any P-to-P program) on any of my computers.
