Windows Installer Service
I am trying to install some software on my computer but when I do I get an error message saying:

"The Windows installer service could not be accessed."

I ran Norton Windoctor and it found the following problem but couldn't repair it:

"C:\Program Files\CommonFiles\InstallShield\Professional \RunTime\0701\Intel32\DotNetInstaller.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "mscoree.dll."

I know this is something new since the last time I ran this diagnostic. Any one know what this is and how to fix it? I'm assuming it is part of my problem.


I have also done a complete virus scan and have attempted to start windows installer service.
