WordPerfect 6.1 and 10
Hi all,
my uncle's HP computer came with WordPerfect 10, however, he also wanted to have his old WordPerfect 6.1 on it because he likes some features better in 6.1. But he also like some features in the new 10 version so he won't get rid of it. Also the HP computer didn't come with a CD so I can't re-install WordPerfect 10. Now the problem. After installing WordPerfect 6.1, each time that he selects something in the WordPerfect Productivity Pack it uses the old WordPerfect instead of the new one. I also assigned the *.wpd file to WordPerfect 10 but Productivity Pack always opens the old one. How can I change it so that Productivity Pack (which belongs to the 10 version) uses WordPerfect 10 ? There is also another problem as my aunt has a limited account on that PC and WordPerfect 6.1 doesn't run there. It only runs in the administrator account. OS is Windows XP Home. Is there a possibility to run WordPerfec 6.1 in a limited Windows XP account ? Thanks in advance, RJ

having both programs on at the same time could cause these problems
the options menu or the prefrences may have settings for that stuf |

WordPerfect 6.1 is an old 16 bit program for Win 3.1. It's not NT-security friendly at all. Best way to get it running for your aunt is make her an administrator and install it into her profile.
Check the HP restore partition, there may be an install for WP 10 in there that you can find, and I *think* there is a repair function when you run the setup. |

Thanks for the answers. Well, my uncle doesn't want my aunt to have an admin account, but WP10 is just fine for her, so if the assignment of WP10 to Productivity Pack can be restored that'd be fine too, coz at the moment Productivity Pack tries to run WP6.1 and it doesn't run.
I also hesitate to use the repair function as I believe it will do a complete restore and then all the data etc. is gone. Tried HP application recovery program but WP10 wasn't listed there. So next time when I'm at the PC I'll browse the restore partition then and see if I can find the setup for WP10. RJ |
