problem with adobe

I recently installed adobe acrobat reader 6.0 on my family's dell (with Win 98se). I have no problem using it on my desktop but for some reason everyone else is unable to open it or a pdf file on their sign on. If they are signed on under their name and the double click the acrobat .exe a fatal error message comes up and it won't open. Same happens if they attempt to open a pdf file online in Internet Explorer. Why can't they open the program on their respective sign ons?

Thank You

It probably has to be installed by everyone if you are using user-level security and profiles.
