Outlook process won't terminate
When I close Outlook 2000 it does not reliably terminate the outlook.exe process. This causes two problems for me:
- my backup utility can't backup the outlook.pst file - my spam utility (spamnet) won't start when I start Outlook. Any ideas how to make the process terminate automatically? I always forget to check and terminate it manually. I searched for threads on this but couldn't find one - point me to one if you know one. Thanks. |

I use Outlook 2000 and that is one of the annoying things about it. If you exit the program while it is attempting to check mail it will leave the process running. The next time you open it, there are two instances of the damn thing running. I CTRL>ALT>DEL and manuyally end the process. You may find it more than once.
I have yet to find a permanent solution, so if anyone knows please do tell. |

I don't know if this will help or not but what happens if you set outlook to do a send/receive on exit. Does it still leave a process running?
I have mine set that way and I never run into a problem. |

How do you set it to send/receive on exit? I can't find that in my options. Can you point me the way and I will try it.
Thanks. |

Where would that option be in Outlook 2000?
I know that is an option for 2002 XP but cannot find it in the 2K version. |

Sorry guys, I got my PCs confused. One is running Outlook XP and the other is 2000. I was thinking about the options in Outlook XP.
I did find this KB article http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=out2K Again, sorry for the mixup. |
