OK... Where are the scroll bars?

I downloaded Mozilla Firebird and I love it. However, there are no scroll bars. This isn't a problem with the scroll wheel on the mouse but I sometimes like to grab the bar. Also, after typing in a form as I am right now I cannot scroll even after clicking outside the box. How can I fix this?

I'm not real sure what the problem would be....I'm using Firebird right now and I've got scroll bars. Only thing I can think of would be maybe you downloaded the wrong one. Did you DL the latest "major update" version, as they call it, or are you trying to use one of the "nightly" updates? The nightly things are sort of a work-in-progress type of deal and may not work right. If you have the latest major version though (seems like it's 0.7 now) I don't know what it would be. Hey I just realized something...I'm still using version 0.6.1. Maybe you should try that one, as 0.7 might have a bug with the scroll bars. Just a guess.

I have the latest version. Could it be the mouse gestures I installed?

There is another problem I have noticed. When I want to download a file it comes up with a box that says "what do you want to do with this file" then there is a drop down box with nothing in it. I click ok and it downloads but says I need to save to disk before I can open it. Sometimes the OK button is even greyed out.

I suppose it *could* be the mouse gestures you installed. Would it be very hard to take those back off and see if it works then? I don't know if Firebird has problems per se with mouse animations, but I do know it apparently uses a different driver or something, because my Microsoft Intellimouse use to be able to click the middle button to bring up an autoscroll feature (in IE5.5). Now, in Firebird, the middle button opens up the tabs and the autoscroll is gone. If it isn't those gestures, you got me stumped on this one.

Well I just removed the mouse gestures. Still no scroll bars. Changing themes doesn't help either.

Now that I think about it. I don't really see any advantage of Mozilla over Internet Explorer. I notice no speed difference and It's compatible with more sites. Now I don't know which one I want to use.

Just the ability to disable popups with two clicks is enough for me.

Dave.

That's the main thing I use it for too is the popup stopper. Haven't had a popup since I started using it. That, and I like the tabbed browsing feature.

Yes that is nice except I had problems with it not allowing pop-ups I wanted. Even when the site was on the allow list. Using the Google Toolbar or Pop-Up Stopper in IE lets you hold down CTRL to allow certain pop-ups.

And Opera lets you send popups behind the active window - that way you don't lose functionality and you don't have them smacking you in the face. You can access any popup if needed with the tabs.

drivn dav > What version are you using? I think mine is still 0.6.1 and I don't find the Advance section you're talking about. Maybe you're using version 0.7? That'd be cool if I could find it.

Juppy, I am sorry. Yes I am running Firebird 0.7. But If you get the urge to upgrade at least you may know of one features. LOL.
