I'm getting frustrated

I have been fighting with myself over which browser I want to use. I finally settled with IE6 because the speed was just as fast as Mozilla Firebird and I could actually download files with IE. But now IE has slowed down again. Cars.com for example, will not load in IE. WHY???!!! Every site should work with IE! It will load instantly win Firebird. What is the software difference between browsers that causes such a difference in speed? I also want to use IE because the Google Bar's pop-up blocking tool is better than Mozilla. The speed just flucuates so much. Why?!! IE suddenly has a memory problem also. I keep setting the email program to Hotmail so it brings up the web page and not Outlook Express. But it keeps switching back to OE! I don't have any spyware or viruses. I have Windows XP Home. Please help.

I just went to cars.com and got blasted by a popup.

the Google Bar's pop-up blocking tool ->could be causing the problem.

I use Opera and have the popups set to pop behind - that way everything loads but I don't have to look at the popups. If I need to look at one, it's available as a page tab. I have 4 browsers installed - Opera, Mozilla, Firebird, and IE 5.01 - and I only use IE when the site *requires* it.

I used to use Opera 7 but it was just too slow. I just couldn't get it to speed up. The Google Bar is not causing the problem. It happens even without it installed. It is only that site that is extremely slow. All the others are just fine.
