cant network 2 computers

im trying to network my computer and my brothers but it doesnt seem to be working. hes running win xp pro and i have home. i dont know whats going on. i went in and tried to setup a home or small office or network, and i followed the directions to the T but its a no go. any ideas as to why this isnt working??

Are you trying to network using a router, hub or ICS? What type of internet connection do you have, dial-up, DSL or cable?

ok i got it to work. i went to the add a network place and made the path one of the files on my brothers computer and it wass almost like it unclogrd a sink.. first that file was availible and then it started showing the network untill the whole thing was setup, very weird to say the least, thanx for the help!
