Norton sysWorks work with XP?
I changed my PC to XP Pro about six months ago and never reinstalled my Norton System Works. I have now decided I need to at least reinstall Ghost and back up my C:\ drive as it is now working perfectly for me.
My question is how compatible is Ghost 2002 with XP Pro. The Symnatec website lists Norton System Works 2002 as compatible but I was wondering if there are any problems that I should know about. Would it be better to go out and buy a current version of Ghost? Thanks |

I used Ghost 2002 with XP Home; XP Pro shouldn't be significantly different.

Your present version of Ghost should work fine as well as the AV on the Norton Systems Works disk. The rest of the Works products are redundant to the XP native tools, however. I had System Works on my XP system when I first built it, but removed them soon after. Don't use Ghost anymore either. The Restore function will take you back to an operable point and I use my CDRW to copy and store files I can't lose. I also clean the Restore area in Disk Cleanup weekly.

eMachines has "ghosted" my hard drive on 3 cd's (restore cd's). I was planning on building a PC for my dad for X-Mas. The question is shouls I buy Ghost and make a image of his HDD once I'm done installing all of the software and drivers how do I go about doing the same thing eMachines has done to my notebook?
