Mailwasher
Wanting to hear from the Mailwasher users. I have a client that is having major spam problems and want to be sure mailwasher is holding up over time, before recommending it.
Are you still satisfied with it's performance? Any problems with it? Any advice on using it? TIA

It's okay, it serves it's purpose and lets me know what wants to come my way and respects my wishes on what I tell it do. In the older versions I had a problem it forgetting my profile and I would need to re-import it. But ever since I upgraded it has stoped doing that, but I figured if that continues I was going to use something else. But in the meantime I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I have used it for many versions and find it to be very reliable.

I just looked over the website and noticed that the free version doesn't have Hotmail support.
Can anyone recommend a free program? I'm sure he won't mind spending a little money to get rid of some spam, but would like to know what other options are out there. Thanks.... |

Well when I was talking about it I was using it for email accounts you get when you sign up for your service, but when dealing with free email accounts like Yahoo, hotmail, Budweiser (yes Budweiser), I find that a lot of these tools don't work for them being that they are web based.

Works perfectly. Does exactly what it's designed to do.
It's downfall, is that you must tell it each and every time, which mail is spam, and which is not. You can use wildcards, and also set up filters by subject/domain, etc., so it can be extremely reliable. If you decide to get it, and use it, see if you can't get a few other user's blacklists, to combine into one big master blacklist. That will really help in cutting down the original amount of spam the user needs to wade through. |

I use Hotmail and from my experince you don't need a third party program for filtering spam. The junk mail filters in Hotmail put all of the junk in the junk folder and everything I want in the inbox.

Yeah, we tried that Hi Ho, I don't know where he's been surfing, but the filters haven't slowed the spam at all.
