Apache server configuration
In my Inet + class we are learning about the Apache Web server. Yesterday our teacher told us to find a copy online, download it, install it and set it up so that we could access our own sites from any computer in the classroom. I found it and installed it with no problems and I figured out how to edit the configuration file so that it would point to the files I wanted and I set it up the server name to be my ip address so that my classmates can access it. I was wondering if anybody had some links to some sites with more advanced configuration options so I can learn some more about it. BTW in class right now we are using Windows 2000 pro.

I'm gonna bump this and hope a mod will see this and move it into the alternating OS forum. Your chances of getting some help with this might be higher if it's over there instead. HTH

This isn't alternative OS - if it gets moved anywhere it would be internet/www - but I think it's most logical right here.

the httpd.conf file is pretty well documented and the apache website has a lot of useful info
Apache 1.3 http://httpd.apache.org/docs/ Apache 2 http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/ I learnt most of the stuff i do with apache by trail and error really but the advanced stuff usually comes from other programs.. like setting up PHP, MySQL and perl to run on your computer too
