Question WMP9 codecs

I have 2 AVI files that will not play in WMP9. When I open them, the player says "sending request for codec", then a few seconds later "error downloading codec".

Are there codecs for WMP 9.0 I can download?

Does it give you and error with an invalid audio or video number on it? If it cant read it It usualy puts this infront of the file in the playlist (!) and it will be red. When this happened to me I just searched for the codec it was looking for else where and installed it. And thats all it needed. Thank good for google :P

Can you get anymore information when you look at the properties of the file (in Windows Media Player)? Also, I'm assuming you have the DIVX codecs, etc. already. HTH

There is no information. Everthing has a "-" in the info lines.

In the properties of the file itself, it has for audio is "Bit Rate 382kbps" and video "frame rate 25 fps; data rate 164kbps

I have no idea if I have the divx codecs for WMP9 or where to get them. I have the divx 2.1 player, though. The AVI doesn't play in that either.

Do a Google search for a program called gspot. It will tell you what codec(s) are used to decompress the audio stream of a video file.
