Where Did They Go?

All the icons for the sites in the link bar in IE just dissapeared. SEEN HERE. I used to have it without text untill the unique icons were replaced with the generic IE icons. I cannot get them back. I cannot find any settings.

Those are called "favicons" and since they are stored in temporary files, they will eventually be replaced by the generic Blue E.

For information on how to save favicons so they'll stay indefinitely, take a look here.

How do I get the favicons back? They are not there and they will not download even when I delete and remake a favorites entry.

Hmm...I haven't run into that problem. Usually, when you delete the entry and make a new one, the favicon will be present on the new entry.

Try emptying the cache (IE>Tools>Internet Options>Delete Files button) and then deleting/recreating an entry in Favorites. If the favicon shows on the Favorites menu but not in the Links bar, closing all IE windows and then restarting IE might jog it into swapping favicons in the Links bar.
