I've recently built my computer (2500AMD, 512 memory, the basics). The problem is that every time I use my computer, it some how can't resist freezing up on me. When I leave it on for about 30 minutes, come back, it is frozen. When I download things it gets froze. I haven’t even put my burner to use b/c when the files are converting, my computer gets frozen. I really don’t know what to do. Someone please help. Average temperature is about 105f, is this normal? But I don’t think the temperature is the problem b/c its even froze up on me 5-10 into using it for the first time in hours.

Which operating system are you using?
What kind of background programs are you running? What kind of programs do you have installed on that computer? How's your case cooling? How are your case fans set up? Do you clean out your Temp folders regularly? Do you have a cold cathode installed in the case? Cricket

If it's done it from day 1, you have faulty or misconfigured hardware. I'd review all the power management settings - the best way to handle power management is disable everything except ACPI and APM in the bios and set up Windows power options to handle it - and letting hard drives shut off or letting the system go into standby can be troublesome. If it started doing it after the initial build, whatever you installed in the meantime would be suspect. I'd start by uninstalling direct connect - and consider doing a system restore back to a date before the problem started showing up. AIM and Winamp shouldn't interfere with anything.
