how do you do a BIOS update
a friend of mine just gave me an old Compaq Presario, its about 4-5 years old. never been updated. how do you update the BIOS on it? what website? is there a spicial website just for BIOS updats or something? like www.biosupdates.com or what?

Are there issues that need to be updated on it?
If it's not broke don't fix it. A bio flash gone bad can turn it into a door stop. |

well its an old machine, i'm updating everything else so i figured i should update that as well

Check Compaqs site for bios updates , you may need one to use a larger HD.

If it's a Compaq, leave it alone. They use a hidden diagnostic partition on the hard drive to hold most of the bios code.
