Norton Anti-Virus Question

I recieved Norton AV 2003 preinstalled on my computer, and I was wondering if I could just install Norton Internet Security on my machine, right overtop of the Norton AntiVirus, without having to uninstall anything?

Just to be on the safe side, I would uninstall it.

Check first in the installation procedure if you can unselect NAV in the security package installation procedure. If you can, uncheck it and go ahead with the installation. If not, uninstall it.

Norton can get to be a real pain sometimes...

[edit]: DO NOT install NAV overtop NAV. There's no telling what could sometimes happen.

I'm not familiar with Norton IS. If Norton AV is included with the program I would not install it over the Norton 2003.
If the AV is not included then it would be OK.

no, AV is included, but there may be an option not to install it along with everything else. Go to custom install, or advanced install, or something similar. Shortly following, there should be a place where you can specify what directory to install the IS pack, and somewhere in there should be a list of what is in the pack.

Well, I dont really want to take my chances with a new computer, so I might as well, take the time to uninstall AV, before I install IS.

Will post back if I run into any trouble.

No you dont have to uninstall it. NOrtan will detect previously installed norton apps and add them to IS. Basically IS will not install its NAV because it will detect that you already have NAV
