Closing realone processes in WinXP

Hi,

When I use realone playa playing rm files, sometimes it takes a few extra seconds to load. during this point everything freezes.

In processes, it shows the realplay.exe, as soon as I start to run realplayer.
Then after a second, realsched.exe appears in the box, then rnatchk.exe appears...

When I delete the rnatchk.exe process, all still runs fine.
It actually allows realone player to load much quicker, without the few second freeze-up. I can click on the same files, and they load instantly, rather than the delay occuring.

How can I get rid of this process altogether?
I had somehow disabled it before, and all files used to run virtually straight away.
Now, everytime I use realone, I have the delay, and have to wait..each time the same file appears in the processes box.

How can I disable this rnatchk.exe, or is there another way to make it quicker?

Thanks,

Zinedene

hi,

been reading up on it, and found these are like tracking stuff from realone, so they can see/know what ure viewing...

deleted all mine , and another few funny files form real one, and now its running crisp..no delay, straight away picture comes on, and no extra processes..problem sorted

U can watch the extra processes come on if u have ure task manager opened, and then load u realone player...then when u choose something to watch, click it, and you will see the process..

I won't let RealOne touch my PC - Real Player 8 is bad enough. Never thought I would diss Real more than M$, but RealOne is a truly intrusive app.

Try Real Player 7. It is not so intrusive and it doesn't have any extra processes.

thanks for the responses.
Ive deleted all the dodgy files.

Is their any other good player that will allow me to play realone associated files (ie rm, ram etc )?

Any advice appreciated.

There is no good alternative that I know of. I think ther is a player that will only do streaming. The best you can do is install Real Player 7 or 8, found HERE. They don't have all the extra stuff and they don't have any extra processes. I replaced Real One player one both of my computers. My other computer is slow enough as it is and getting rid of those processes made a difference.
