macafee vs norton

Hopefully a simple question, If I use the uninstall utility that came with Macaffe will it sufficently remove the virus scan software so that I can safely install Norton without it haveing any conflicts from residuall Macaffe that might get left? I'm running 98se. Thanks......Terry

I usually use Windows uninstaller (Add/Remove Programs) and haven't had any conflicting problems. If you do, you can backup the registry, then do a search of the registry for any entries of McAfee and delete them.

I do the uninstall, empty the recycle bin, and do a search for anything "McAfee". Delete them all, empty recycle again and then install the Norton. Nothing wrong with other suggestions, just letting you know what has worked for me.
