Hello,
I downloaded Mozilla Firebird browser and when i went to open it, for whatever reason, my win 98 tried to open it with kodak viewer software and, of course, it wouldn't open. But I also can't "separate" the download from the Kodak to try and open it with Ultimate zip(the zip file program I have always used). My question is two fold- Why is it defaulting to the Kodak viewer(it never has before) And how do I change the default program and can I separate it from the download. I have downloaded it 3 times and always get the same result. I have dial-up and this is getting old. Thanks in advance.

You could trying holding down the shift key at the same time as right clicking on the downlod.
That should return a context menu with "open with" as an option. Click on that. It should return a list of programs. Find Ultimate zip and click on that. If it's not in the list, click on "other" and go find the Ultimate exe and then click on that. why the association got whacked ? who knows. It's been awhile since i've used Win98, but I think you can check your file associations in the "folder options" section of the view menu in windows explorer. not much good luck |
