Hey, been a while since i reformated my pc now ( with the new 120 hud ) but ever since then the clock ( in the bottom right ) has never stayed the right time, i never knew it had an update of 7 days before i reformated cuz now by then its bout an hour out, is there any way i can rectify this problem cuz yeh its not a major problem but you do kinda get annoyed when you think its one time when if you think again dependin on which day it is from the 7 day update period it could be anytime. Yes i have clicked it & updated it myself but i need to do tht a few times aday which gets tedius.
One more question, my cd drive ( my fave one) from my first pc ( few years old now ) well this must be bout the 3 ...4 th computer its been in now , well anyway its stopped reading discs, kinda annoying cuz my cdrw drive has also cocked up.... well saying tht it has never been tht good at reading normal discs so i took tht out too, so im left with my dvd drive which yeh is sony so good but i need more than one so could you tell me whether from guessing or experience i suppose, has my cd rom died of old age ( like 3 year old age ) :P thank you ![]() -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- added -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh i also forgot, i know I've asked this before & no1 understood, but.... you know yours sound driver well it can play dual & single output, well over the years since WIN 98 first we all had tht one where you couldnt play more than one sound at once, then upgraded to multiple sounds tht messed up when you loaded somet heavy on the processor, then we all got one tht plays perfect whatever, well for some reason whenever i install my HERCULES 5.1 sound card it gives me tht lame driver ( checkout the pic sorry bout the screen dump kinda poor but had to compress it ) well i believe i NEED SPDIF, but i downloaded many drivers & all give me no change, I used to have decent one bout year ago, but i had ASUS Tusl-2 then & needed it, now i learnt to live with it cuz it only happens when i stick a cd in & it reads from it, which gets so very annoyin during a game such as FIFA 2004 as its constantly readin off the cd & you get breaks in the commentary & crowd chants, any thax & can you help. update clock
a) You may need to plug a new CMOS battery into your mother board.
b)You might like the free program called NetTime, that updates & synchronizes your computer's internal clock to atomic clocks. It lets you tell it which atomic clocks to routinely look at. I set mine to automatically synchronize muy computer to atomic clocks at nearby universities & military bases. Works great! |

I have seen a motherboard have a bad battery new out of the box.
Some programs can cause systems to lose time. Did you install anything new before it started losing time? Has it been losing time since you reinstalled Windows? or did it start lately? You might try running a cleaning disk in the cd-rom, or try switching the IDE cable, if that doesn't help I would say it's done for.
