Windows XP Pro

Hey would you advise putting windows xp pro on a machine with 266Mhz processor speed and 128Mb of RAM, Its a pentium 2?

Cool

I would not. It will probably run but will be slow. XP really needs 256K and performs much better with 512K. Plus the processor is a little slow.

will it run much faster if we put windows 98SE on it?

and do you know if we we be able to network two pcs, one with XP Pro and one with windows 98SE?

No problem networking them together.

And yes 98se will be much faster than XP on that old of a machine

I managed to network two XP machines but didnt know if you could do it with different operating systems! Thanks again

What you will want to do is setup the network on the XP machine first. At the last step of that you will be prompted to make a floppy to setup the other machine.

Win 2000 will run acceptably on that machine if you want more stability than what 98 gives you. XP would be a real dog.
