default program

I recently purchased Picture IT premium and installed it. I liked it better than my old imaging software (image expert). I deleted image expert. Now all my images show up as temp icons. I cannot open them directly, however I can open them from within picture it. How can I change it so I can open them directly.
It doesn't give me them option to "open with" if I right click it.
Thanks

I am using win98. I clicked properties and there is a general tab, but no "opens with" If fact the only thing I can change is attributes.

Ok I figured it out. I downloaded a picture and chose to always open this type of file with Picture It.

For future reference: To change a file association, find a file of the type you want to change, hold down the Shift key while right clicking on that file. Go to "Open With..." and choose the program you want that file type to open in. Check the box at the bottom of the window for "Always use this program...." Click OK. That will change the file association for all files of that type.
